Volunteer South America – for free and low-cost volunteer opportunities in Latin America

Lonely Planet – Yes, it’s on the beaten path as far as guidebooks go, but I find their website helpful for itinerary suggestions, maps, reviews, and travel inspiration

Trip Advisor – This is a powerful tool in trip planning. I always read reviews before I book anywhere.
